
Ram Sharda
Executive Chef / Director of Hospitality

A Red Seal Chef with a B.Sc. in Hospitality & Hotel Administration, Ram Sharda has held high end Executive Chef positions with large hotel chains such as Hyatt and Hilton. He came to Edmonton in 2013 to be the manager and Executive Chef for the La Shish group of restaurants. The Courtyard Marriott Hotel then lured him away to be Executive Chef and to significantly improve the hotel’s food and beverage operations.
In 2018, he moved up to Corporate Executive Chef for Civeo/Red Table Foods.
Ram accepted an Executive Chef appointment with the Compass Group. His biggest assignment here was to create, plan and implement the food and beverage operations for the opening of Rogers Place in Ice District.
Since 2022, Ram has been the Executive Chef and Director of Hospitality at the Canterbury Foundation, Edmonton’s pre-eminent seniors’ retirement and supportive living facility.
Ram was a mentor to us in January 2024. He said then that he enjoyed the experience so I invited him to do it again. This time, he has prepared a challenging menu of East Indian and South Asian courses.
